Job Description
At WSP, you will work on landmark Building Services projects as part of our Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) team, bringing innovative solutions and a multidisciplinary approach.
Responsibilities
* Meeting the requirements of an 'Associate' grade and having a proven track record in leading projects for your discipline and for an overall project team, demonstrating how your input led to the commission being won or successfully delivered.
* Work in a joint leadership capacity within a mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) discipline team, providing design and technical advice with a multidisciplinary approach on a wide range of projects.
* Able to work using your own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of your discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role.
* Able to work under the clear direction of the client and interpret the needs of the project as a whole to meet the full delivery needs.
* Supervise the completion of detailed designs and oversee the work of others in this function.
* Consider the feasibility of the project specific to the discipline and lead the overall feasibility study for the project.
* Take responsibility for and direct others in the production of detailed and performance specification for the discipline, subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.
* Review design programmes and ensure sufficient resources are available to complete the works.

* The Building Services team in the Northern Region (Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh, Glasgow) consists of more than 50 mechanical, electrical, and public health engineers.

Key Technical Requirements
* Understanding of UK and European regulations applicable to the discipline and demonstrating this in project execution.
* UK project experience within Building Services MEP.
* Working knowledge of latest electrical design software packages (Revit MEP, AutoCAD, 3D design tools).
* Ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically and effectively.

Qualifications
* BEng/BSc/MEng in applicable engineering discipline.
* CIBSE / IET / Engineering Council accredited honours degree or specific experience leading to Chartership.
* Working towards IEng or CEng status.
* Revit MEP training applied to the discipline.
