Full Job Description
We are seeking a down-to-earth and pragmatic qualified Finance Manager to join an ambitious business in the gaming industry based in Bristol. Given the business is in a growth phase, they need someone hands-on who is comfortable handling the day-to-day transactional processing across the group as well as experience with budgeting and forecasting to provide insights to the management team. This role is critical to the business, and you will be supported by a part-time CFO.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day transactional processing, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, bank accounts, and payroll.
* Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
* Lead the Group’s budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling.
* Collaborate with management to provide financial insights and support decision-making in a prompt manner.
* Monitor cash flow and manage working capital, both short-term and long-term, to benefit the business and meet reporting requirements.
* Prepare concise and accurate royalty reports, easy for partners to read, circulated according to agreed timescales.
* Update forecasts regularly with stakeholders to ensure clarity about the business's future performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, and a professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is desirable or demonstrable experience in the field.
* Proven experience in a finance management role, preferably within the video games or entertainment industry.
* Strong knowledge of the month-end process and experience in forecasting.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel/Google Sheets.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* High levels of attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
