Nottinghamshire County Council is developing all‑age ways of working in Social Work Community Teams and permanent Social Work vacancies have arisen in the Ashfield Social Work Community Team. We are looking for dynamic staff with relevant knowledge, skills and expertise in all areas of Social Work practice.
Location: Lawn View House, Sutton in Ashfield, NG17 5GA.
Salary: £39,152 – £44,075 per annum.
Employment type: Permanent Full‑time (37 hrs per week).
Working arrangements: Hybrid.
Closing date: 02 November 2025 23:55.
Responsibilities
* Identify client goals and aspirations, coordinating a range of outcomes to meet their needs.
* Explore reablement and enablement opportunities and access appropriate services.
* Use strength‑based approaches to promote choice, control, personalisation and self‑directed support.
* Work alongside other Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Community Care Officers in a fast‑paced, friendly, supportive team.
* Maintain a caseload of mixed‑priority work, managing time and organisational demands effectively.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Recognising that people are the experts in their own lives.
* Communicating respectfully with and about people.
* Thinking and acting creatively.
* Professionally challenging circumstances that marginalise, exclude or oppress.
* Critical reflective practice and a desire for continuous learning and professional development.
* At least 2 years’ experience as a qualified Social Worker.
* Professional curiosity and understanding of safeguarding and partnership working with health, external agencies and providers.
* Registered with Social Work England and holding a recognised social work qualification.
* Sound knowledge of relevant social care legislation.
* Ability to use a car regularly (taxi service available for disabled applicants).
