Cheshire East Council is looking for a Street Cleansing Supervisor to support our Team Leaders in managing a team of 49 operatives and drivers. You’ll play a key role in ensuring high standards of cleanliness across the borough.
We are looking for somebody who will be committed to providing an effective frontline service to the residents of Cheshire East in a courteous and professional manner. As well as managing the team you will be expected to undertake a range of tasks including litter picking, the emptying of litter and dog bins and removal of fly tipped waste as well as driving a 3.5 tonne transit tipper/ alternatively fuelled vehicle and 4.5 tonne compact sweeper (with appropriate licence & CPC).
We are looking for people with knowledge of Cheshire East and an understanding of suitable cleansing methods. The need to work in a safe manner is paramount and therefore an understanding of relevant safe working practices i.e. Working on the highway is essential.
Previous supervisory experience of a large team along with knowledge of the borough and street cleansing activities would be an advantage but not necessarily essential.
You will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions and exert physical effort for much of the working day in order to fulfil the requirements of the role.
