Overview
The Integrative Therapy Health & Wellbeing (ITH&W) team at The Christie is looking for a multiskilled therapist to work within our integrated service. The ITH&W team offers personalised care that is supportive, compassionate, empowering, and resourceful to all service users. Our service provides stress management techniques both virtually and face to face. This is a full-time, fixed term position, working 37.5 hours a week, Monday – Friday at our Macclesfield Site. Pending the number of successful applicants, there may be opportunities to job share, rotate to our main site In Withington or to join our CH&W therapist bank. Responsibilities
* Lead, co-ordinate, supervise and manage a team of staff as a band 6.
* Offer a range of therapies, triage priority caseloads, make assessments and key decisions regarding service users’ needs and treatment.
* Provide support across all clinical areas dictated by clinical need.
* Help monitor workload, adherence to professional standards, and health and safety requirements.
* Develop and evaluate care pathways, lead and contribute to teaching, and evaluate therapies provided.
* Attend multidisciplinary meetings and communicate with all professionals involved in service users’ care to maximize quality of service.
* Maintain professional registration and a portfolio; plan and manage own workload; undertake peer review and risk assessment as appropriate.
* Assist in recruitment, deployment of CH&W staff, and development of service policies, guidelines, and protocols.
* Ensure clinical governance processes, incident reporting, and complaints management are followed as per trust procedures.
Clinical Practice
* Maintain professional registration and CPD; maintain a portfolio in line with the Trust competency framework.
* Undertake skills appropriate to role; review and evaluate own role and practice; plan and implement care programmes; triage and refer as appropriate.
* Provide specialist knowledge, guidance, and support; communicate effectively with MDT and other professionals; prepare reports and maintain records in line with standards and confidentiality.
* Adjust and refine treatment plans based on progress and complex clinical factors; ensure informed consent for care plans.
Education & Staff Development
* Support development plans and CPD; assist in delivering specialist teaching and training programs; review and evaluate teaching initiatives.
* Identify personal development needs and assist with clinical supervision, mentorship, and educational materials for staff and patients.
* Provide clinical placement supervision and ensure the clinical environment supports learning.
Research & Service Development
* Assist in evaluating clinical practice through audits; stay engaged with current developments to support evidence-based practice.
* Support research within areas of responsibility; help develop and disseminate research findings; contribute to shared objectives of multidisciplinary teams.
