Vacancy: Clinical Support Worker (Band 3) – East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust
We are keen to attract Clinical Support Workers for a dynamic and busy environment in Critical Care. Our unit receives patients from the Emergency Department, wards, and surgical theatres, providing care across the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), High Dependency Unit (HDU), and Level 1 Enhanced Care Unit.
Qualifications
* Minimum of GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent (Functional Skills)
* Care Certificate and/or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualifications
* Experience as a Clinical Support Worker desirable but not essential
Responsibilities
Your role will involve supporting the clinical team, maintaining the environment of the unit, and contributing fully as a member of the Critical Care team. You will help ensure the smooth running of the ICU, HDU, and Level 1 unit.
Delegated clinical procedures may include:
* Insertion and removal of cannulas
* Venepuncture
* Wound assessment and simple dressings
* Removal of urinary catheters
Full training for these procedures will be provided.
Duties
The Clinical Support Worker (Band 3) provides nursing care and interventions to a delegated patient caseload, assisting the Registered Nurse/Practitioner team to deliver high‑quality and effective care. Duties will vary with the clinical area and may include additional tasks as training is completed.
