We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Lead to join our team and take ownership of all commercial and contractual aspects across the rail portfolio. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact across the region.
You’ll work closely with the Project Director, supporting project delivery, driving value, and ensuring commercial best practice from contract negotiation to risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership

Independently manage project budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement corrective actions to ensure profitability.
*
Lead the preparation, negotiation, and administration of contracts, resolving variations and disputes efficiently.
Procurement & Risk
*
Develop and implement procurement strategies that deliver best value across projects.
*
Manage supplier performance and oversee risk identification and mitigation.
*
Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and safety standards.
Collaboration
*
Work closely with the Project Director to align commercial strategies with project goals.
*
Embed robust commercial review processes and provide proactive input to project planning.
*
Liaise with multidisciplinary teams and clients to integrate commercial best practice and maintain transparency throughout the project life cycle.
Qualifications & Experience
*
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Business, Finance, or related discipline (Professional accreditation such as MRICS or equivalent preferred).
*
Proven experience in a commercial management role within rail, infrastructure, or construction projects.
*
Strong expertise in NEC and Network Rail (NR) contracts.
*
Skilled in commercial negotiation, financial reporting, and risk management.
