The Focus: Research Leadership & Strategic Impact
We are looking for an experienced academic with a sustained record of high-quality research outputs and a developing profile of research leadership. In this role, you will provide intellectual leadership and achieve high visibility in your field at both national and international levels.
1. Lead: Contribute to the School’s research strategy and provide leadership within our Research Excellence Groups.
2. Drive: Lead ambitious research agendas, identify and secure external funding, and manage the financial and physical resources of research activities.
3. Mentor: Support the development of colleagues, supervise research students, and lead research teams.
4. Educate: Deliver research-informed, innovative teaching within our distinctive PBL model, ensuring all delivery complies with high-quality standards.
Areas of Expertise

Your research should complement our existing Research Excellence Groups, which include Social Welfare, Law and Administrative Justice; Health and Law; Law and AI; Conflict, Migration, and International Law; Criminalisation; and Private Law and Values.
About You
You are a collaborative academic with a PhD in Law and an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the law of England and Wales. You possess:
10. Research Excellence: A proven track record of high-impact publications in quality journals and a well-established national reputation.
11. Teaching Excellence: Extensive experience in HE teaching and learning, with a willingness to embrace collaborative approaches like PBL.
12. Leadership Skills: The ability to motivate staff, manage administrative responsibilities, and lead interdisciplinary initiatives.
13. Collaborative Ethos: A commitment to working proactively with colleagues across the department and the wider university
