We are looking for an experienced L&D professional to cover a key role during maternity leave starting in August 2025 until September 2026. You will: Manage all administrative aspects of the Talent & Development function, including SharePoint content, standardisation of colleague files, and archiving expired materials. Facilitate and analyse training needs in partnership with first-line managers across all business areas. Design, deliver, procure, and manage learning interventions aligned to business needs. Coordinate and administrate internal and external training bookings, budget approvals, and post-training evaluations. Embed a learning evaluation framework to measure the effectiveness and ROI of learning programmes. Support the People Manager in maintaining the Career & Development Toolkit, ensuring role profiles and career dimensions are current and accessible. Manage the Annual Talent Cycle process and the upkeep of the Group Skills Matrix. Support first-line managers and colleagues with guidance on career development conversations and practical use of development frameworks. Promote and manage professional membership opportunities (e.g., IET membership) for identified high-potential colleagues. Manage the Group’s Apprenticeship Levy Account, ensuring compliance and value-for-money outcomes, in line with strategy. Maintain regular contact with training providers to monitor apprentice progress and resolve any issues. Administer and support the development and continuous improvement of the Graduate and Apprenticeship Programmes. Support first-line managers in embedding effective performance management practices, including SMART goal setting, career development conversations, and continuous feedback. Implement, administer, and promote the Management Skills Toolkit to upskill people managers. Report on performance-related L&D activity and development engagement. Act as a trusted L&D advisor to first-line managers and colleagues, providing coaching, practical advice, and support in the development of their teams. Collaborate with the People Manager and People Advisors to ensure seamless L&D support across business units. Lead and manage assigned L&D projects in alignment with the broader People and Business Strategy. Oversee the Talent & Development budget effectively in line with strategy set by the Talent & Development Manager. Ensure timely reporting and governance of learning spend and resource utilisation. Successfully identify and complete all relevant training both in-house and external, as required. Follow all health and safety regulations, procedures and protocols. Assist with any other duties reasonably requested and in line with the requirements of the post. We are looking for: Experience and Knowledge Knowledge and experience of how to develop learning interventions to support neurodiversity and learning styles. Exposure to apprenticeships, early careers, or professional qualifications management. An understanding of how to apply creativity, to provide a full range of learning tools, both direct instructional learning and self-led, through to blended or hybrid, offline/online. Knowledge of how to effectively design or source suitable learning and development interventions and the suitable learning methodologies. Experience and a good understanding of how to deliver and facilitate training, whether online or face-to-face. Knowledge of how to work across the business, take insight from peers and leaders, undertake a detailed and through needs analysis approach to identifying learning and development needs for a variety of audiences. Proven experience in a similar role, as an L&D Specialist or equivalent Skills and Abilities Approachable and passionate, understanding how to role model continuous learning and build a learning culture within the organisation. Ability to communicate effectively across the group, adapting different styles and language used where appropriate. Strong project management, coordination, and administrative skills.
