We are seeking compassionate, skilled, and emotionally intelligent Mental Health Support Workers to join our Supported Living Service in Oldham, Manchester, working as part of a dedicated and professional staff team. This role is suited to individuals with strong life‑coaching qualities and experience or knowledge of complex mental health needs, including substance‑induced mental health conditions and recovery‑focused support. We are looking for staff who understand how emotional distress, instability, and lack of support can increase relapse risk, and who can work collaboratively to provide consistent, structured, and non‑judgemental support. A good understanding of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD) is essential, along with the ability to work calmly and professionally within a team‑based environment, maintaining clear boundaries and a recovery‑focused approach. Pay & Working Hours
* Pay: £12.90 per hour
* Shifts: Day & Night shifts available
* Hours: Full‑time & Part‑time available
* Driver: UK driving licence preferred but not essential
The Role
* Provide person‑centred, trauma‑informed mental health support as part of a staff team
* Use life‑skills coaching and emotional support to promote recovery, stability, and independence
* Support individuals with complex and substance‑induced mental health needs to maintain progress and reduce relapse risk
* Promote emotional regulation, positive routines, and healthy coping strategies
* Assist with daily living tasks, including:
o Medication support
o Cooking and meal preparation
o Cleaning and maintaining the living environment
o Supporting with paperwork and appointments
* Encourage engagement in meaningful activities, skill development, and community access
* Contribute to a consistent team approach, including accurate record‑keeping and handovers
What We’re Looking For
* Experience supporting people with complex mental health needs, including substance‑induced mental health conditions
* Strong understanding of EUPD, emotional dysregulation, and attachment‑related behaviours
* Knowledge of substance misuse recovery, relapse awareness, and harm‑reduction approaches
* Experience working with challenging behaviours and within Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworks
* Strong communication, organisation, and time‑management skills
* A calm, compassionate, and professional approach
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
