Overview
Our Chamber is part of HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS), an agency of the Ministry of Justice responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family courts and tribunals in England and Wales. The First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) handles applications, appeals and references relating to disputes over property and land. The Chamber consists of three divisions: Residential Property, Land Registration, and Agricultural Land & Drainage, and operates across five regional centres – Birmingham, Cambridge, Havant, London, Manchester and Leicester.
We are entering a transformative period, preparing for the implementation of the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024 and the Renters’ Rights Act 2025. We are looking for passionate individuals committed to public service and delivering justice that makes a real difference in people’s lives.
Responsibilities
As a Team Leader, you will:
* Lead a team to deliver excellent administrative support and customer service to service users, judiciary and management.
* Prioritise and organise work, ensuring the team is fully skilled to meet objectives.
* Contribute to the delivery of operational, performance and service standard targets and provide statistical data for the management team, mediators and judiciary.
* Monitor and analyse performance areas and trends, conduct ongoing reviews of procedures and work practices, and recommend improvements, navigate change and manage the implementation of new initiatives and legislation.
* Support the team’s wellbeing, motivate and inspire them to succeed.
Skills & Experience
We require:
* Ability to motivate and support your team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve effective performance.
* Experience working in an administrative role in a customer-focused environment.
* IT proficiency with the ability to learn and adapt to different technologies and software packages.
* Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.
Working Arrangements
Office based. Hybrid working is available on a non-contractual basis where business needs are met; a minimum of 25 hours (part‑time) or 37 hours (full‑time). Occasional travel to other National Services sites may be required.
