Position Overview
We are seeking a 4 On 4 off Night Team Leader to support our Transport Manager. The role involves managing transport movements, factory clearance, and ensuring all orders are planned efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service and adhering to budgets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage daily transport plans using relevant software, ensuring resource allocation accuracy.
2. Coordinate with warehouse teams to manage loads in line with plans.
3. Communicate delays to stakeholders promptly.
4. Audit driver packs and brief drivers at departure.
5. Monitor loads and manage delays to meet delivery schedules.
6. Proactively address potential scheduling issues.
7. Handle front desk administration and maintain accurate records.
8. Manage PODs and report issues to the line manager.
9. Interact with customers to address inquiries and maintain relationships.
10. Produce daily shift reports and handovers.
11. Verify driver licenses for compliance.
12. Ensure routes comply with legal and safety standards.
13. Manage sickness, absence, and return-to-work processes.
14. Support investigations, disciplinary, and grievance procedures confidentially.
15. Complete incident reports, including RTC, staff injury, and near-miss reports.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience in a similar transport role, with knowledge of planning and operations.
* Proficiency with transport software.
* Understanding of driver hours regulations and UK geography.
* Problem-solving initiative and determination.
* Excellent communication and rapport-building skills.
* Transport Manager CPC qualification is desirable.
