An established and growing chemical manufacturing business is seeking an experienced and proactive Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Manager to join their leadership team. This is a hands‑on, site‑based role requiring a strong background in process safety and COMAH compliance. You’ll play a key part in driving continuous improvement and ensuring high standards of safety and operational excellence across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

* Ensure compliance with COMAH regulations and manage associated documentation and intervention plans.
* Lead and chair HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA studies in collaboration with relevant specialists.
* Oversee and maintain site reporting systems, compiling statistics for management reports and presentations.
* Develop and implement SHEQ policies, procedures, and training materials (e.g., SOPs, toolbox talks, safety alerts).
* Manage occupational health and hygiene programs.
* Investigate and record incidents, near misses, and cases of ill health.
* Conduct internal audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Liaise with regulatory authorities as required.
* Drive engagement and accountability across the site for SHEQ performance.

About You

* Proven experience in a SHEQ or HSE management role within a chemical, manufacturing, or process industry.
* Strong process safety and COMAH background.
* Relevant NEBOSH (or equivalent) qualification.
* Knowledge of reaction chemistry.
* Competent in SHEQ reporting systems and incident investigation (RCA).
* Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and confident managing your own workload.
* Experience auditing ISO45001, ISO14001, and ISO9001 systems.
* Membership of IOSH, IEMA, or IChemE.
* Background in chemical, waste, or petrochemical environments.

Personal Attributes

* Diligent and professional
* Flexible and proactive
* Strong communicator and influencer
* Enthusiastic team player with a “can‑do” attitude
