In order to cover parental leave we are looking for a dynamic individual to work within a service committed to improving the health and wellbeing of frail and or older people. The Community Assessment and Treatment Services (CATS) provides rapid access to a multidisciplinary team comprising of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists for primarily frail and/or elderly patients with a strong focus on providing high quality care for people with frailty.
We are looking for a senior physiotherapist to provide assessments and treatment plans for patients attending Thame and Marlow CATS. They will also support the developing Marlow CATS Rehabilitation Service.
This is a great opportunity to work alongside GPs with a special interest in elderly care and Falls Specialist physiotherapists enabling clinical development in frailty and in falls prevention.
We are looking for someone who can work 3 full days (22.5 hours) or more (up to 27 hours)
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide physiotherapy assessments within the clinics in Thame and Marlow as part of either Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments or Nursing and Therapy led Multifactorial falls Assessments.
They will also provide indirect supervision for the rehabilitation support worker in Marlow CATS Rehab Service.
The services run from 08:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays.
Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel effectively and independently on a daily basis to and from the base, clients’ homes and other venues around the geographical area. Education, Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
11. BSc or Diploma in physiotherapy
12. Evidence of post registration CPD portfolio
13. HCPC registered
Desirable criteria
14. Relevant post graduate clinical training
Special Circumstances
Essential criteria
15. Ability to travel across the Trust to fullfil the requirements of the post (car owner/ driver)
Experience
Essential criteria
16. A minimum of 2 years post graduate relevant clinical experience
17. Experience managing a case load of older people
18. Experience of working within a community setting
19. Experience of supervision and training of junior staff and assistants
Desirable criteria
20. Experience of working within a multi agency/ multidisciplinary team
21. Experience of electronic clinical systems
22. Experience of assisting with service development
23. Experience participating in a research or audit project
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge
Essential criteria
24. Knowledge and ability to provide patient assessment, treatment planning and goal setting in varied conditions
25. Clinical reasoning skills relevant to the client group (frail/ complex conditions/ fallers).
26. Knowledge of best practise within the specialist area
27. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
28. Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team including working across professional boundaries
