Job Overview
This job is for a Core Clinical Fellow to provide care for patients undergoing comprehensive geriatric assessment as part of our FPH Frailty Team and receiving support/training from both middle grades and Consultant staff.
Main Duties
This is a good post to gain experience in general and geriatric medicine.
Hours of Work
Hours of work will be within the time period 8am – 7pm, Monday – Friday. The role will be in general and geriatric medicine based at Frimley Park Hospital.
Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
* Assess and provide care for patients that have been referred to the FPH Frailty Team
* Work as part of the ward multidisciplinary team and actively participate in MDT meetings.
* Be expected to provide teaching to nursing and/or ancillary staff and undergraduate students.
* Be expected to participate in audits and research as arranged by the team.
* Perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation where practicable with their colleagues both senior and junior.
* To attend monthly clinical governance meetings

Qualifications
Essential Criteria
* MBBS or equivalent
* Full registration with the GMC
* Understands the principles and practice of audit
Desirable Criteria
* Further qualification e.g MRCP or DGM
* Distinctions, Scholarships, prizes
Experience
Essential Criteria
* Awareness of the basics of managing older patients, comprehensive geriatric assessment and frailty syndromes
* Evidence of competence to work without direct supervision where appropriate
* Demonstrate current ALS certification
* Previous experience of participating in teaching
Desirable Criteria
* Evidence of special interest in geriatric medicine
* Evidence of involvement of significant service change associated with audit
* Previous participation in MRCP and DGM teaching
