What you’ll do
* Deliver and own high‑quality software: build, maintain, and operate reliable, cloud‑based solutions with strong automation, taking full ownership of delivery, support (including out‑of‑hours rota), and issue resolution.
* Drive engineering excellence and DevOps practices: lead adoption of DevOps, automation and experimentation to improve the end‑to‑end product lifecycle, continuously measuring and enhancing development metrics, quality, and stability.
* Lead and contribute to frameworks, standards and strategy: develop and embed engineering frameworks, policies and standards, while contributing to product planning, roadmaps and defining/achieving Product Group objectives and key results.
* Mentor and uplift engineering capability: support, coach and mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming and knowledge sharing, fostering clean, high‑quality code and continuous learning.
* Promote innovation, collaboration and community engagement: champion technology, ways of working and innovation across teams; actively participate in communities of practice; and contribute to recruitment strategy and hiring plans.
Who you are
* Experience with database technologies such as MongoDB, SQL and CosmosDB.
* Knowledge of Azure Databricks, Terraform, SpringBoot and Java 11+.
* Experience with AngularJS and queueing systems such as IBM MQ and Kafka.
* Familiarity with CI/CD using GitHub Actions and the Azure Cloud Platform.
* Understanding of event streaming platforms with Kafka.
