The 4* Roker Hotel in Sunderland are seeking to recruit a Night Porter on a 3 month Fixed Term Contract (October 2025 – Dec As Night Porter, responsibilities will include:
* Receiving a hand-over from the Duty Manager and ensuring that all aspects of night service are dealt with in an efficient and effective manner,
* Providing a warm welcome to guests on arrival at check-in and dealing with guest enquiries and resolving queries effectively
* Ensuring that guest billing is accurate on check-out and payment is received on departure complying with hotel procedures
* Ensuring the night audit function is completed accurately on a timely basis
* Ensuring all entrances to the hotel and car park are locked at an appropriate time and full night security measures are followed for the safety of staff and guests. This includes all hotel emergency/fire evacuation procedures complying with Health & Safety requirements
* Communicating effectively with the Front Office Manager and wider hotel team
* Anticipate guests' needs, wherever possible, in order to deliver exceptional quality of service and, in turn, guest satisfaction.
* Maintaining good PR with guests/ customers at al times.
Team Work/Communication-
* Promote a helpful and professional image within the department, ensuring full co operation is given to colleagues in other departments.
* Maximise all sales opportunities, ensuring sales leads are passed to the Management
* Report any maintenance problems and ensure they are rectified, specifically in relation to the comfort of guests and issues of Health and Safety.
Compliance-
* To be fully conversant with the Reservations Policy and Procedures.
* To follow the Hotel policy relating to guest comments and complaints.
* To be fully aware of the security of the hotel and do at least 2 full walk arounds taking full viewing of all corridors and areas where external doors are located.
* To be fully aware that it is against hotel policy for hotel staff to be on the property when not on a working shift and no un-authorised usage of bedrooms should take place at any given time. Night porters are not authorised to give staff accommodation unless authorised by management.
* To comply with Company requirements relating for Fire and Health and Safety procedures.
* To attend any training and departmental meetings, as required.
* To contact the General or Assistant Manager in emergency cases straight away and if very serious contact Directors.
* Ensure full compliance by the department to all issues of Hygiene, Health and Safety and Fire, as indicated by legislation and the Hotel and Company Health and Safety Manuals
* To maintain standards of cleanliness within the hotel by working through the task sheet and signing off and then put into the audit pack
Security-
* Maintain security of the hotel by completing walk arounds during the night and making sure the fire routes and external doors are checked at each walk around.
General Duties-
* To undertake any other reasonable duties, as requested by a member of the Senior management team.
* To deliver room services out of hours as to the company standard.
* To serve on the bar for late night residents.
* To service and setup function rooms according to the clients requirements.
As a Night Porter for Seaton Hospitality you will be required to carry out Physical tasks:
* To be able to work on your feet for up duration of shift
* Lift items of varying weight that will include items such as guests luggage, tables, chairs, kegs and any other item requested by management within reason
* Be able to perform duties that will include reaching, kneeling and bending

Pay: £10.00-£12.46 per hour
