Senior Shift Technician
Salary starting at £52,513, shift rotation allowance, 10% bonus potential, 25 days annual leave, and a company pension scheme with highly competitive contribution
Permanent, Full time
Reporting to the Technical Maintenance Manager of the Midlands Super Hub, you will:
* Provide expert technical support during the operation, including management of complex breakdowns, analysis of technical data, support front-line technicians, and ensure the engineering team are responding to automation issues in a timely manner.
* Be the senior engineering representative within the system control room; monitor key performance metrics throughout operation, provide technical support to the operational management team and drive efficiency of the automation.
* Ensure effective knowledge transfer of Beumer technologies and systems, working closely with BG System Analyst to ensure technical expertise remains on-site at the end of support contract.
* Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement activity to drive improvements in reliability and performance of hub automation, and support cost effective solutions to improve design and maintenance, coaching and developing teams as required.
* Perform safety audits, inspections, and assessments, and attend hub operational meetings to understand automated processing, sharing outputs with engineers, through WTLL sessions.
About You
To be truly successful in this role, you’ll possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
* Qualified to level 4, HNC, or HND, and desirably a degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Experince with PLC Systems including Siemens S7, SIMATIC, SIMOVE and CODESYS.
* Be a qualified machinery directive compliance assessor (PUWER) and IOSH Managing Safety qualified and certified manager.
* Knowledge and experience of delivering ISO 55000 asset maintenance strategies.
* Knowledge of cost versus risk and change management theories to develop and deliver technical solutions supporting strategic decisions, and practical experience of deploying continuous improvement processes.
* Strong leadership, communication, influencing and senior leader stakeholder management skills, and experience of leading professional technical engineering teams.
Shift Pattern
A 5-week alternating rotation consisting of 4 weeks of operational cover, between 06:45 - 19:15, 18:45 - 07:15, and one week of pool cover shifts, averaging 41h per week. Pattern can be discussed at interview stage.
