This post aims to provide the appointee with extensive experience in Hysteroscopy. It will also allow the appointee to work in a multi-disciplinary setup gaining experience to eventually running your own Hysteroscopy clinic.
This is an ideal post for someone keen to develop Hysteroscopy skills and to complete the ambulatory SITMs. This will suit a post CCT doctor or a doctor wishing to complete CESR.
Full-time including participation in a full shift rota system working 1 in 8
Main duties of the job
There will be a requirement for the appointee to participate in the on-call obstetric rota (1 in 8 rotation) and flexibility to develop further skills such as Colposcopy and early pregnancy scanning.
The post will be based at the Princess Royal Hospital site in Haywards Heath, with the on-call commitment predominantly at this site. We have about 5400 deliveries at UHSussex (east) per year, across both sites and our service provides the obstetric support for the Trevor Mann Baby Unit which is the regional tertiary neonatal unit.
The applicant will also have the opportunity to maintain their gynaecology clinical skills both within the on-call duties and elective gynaecology. The department is also a Gynae-oncology Centre, an accredited centre of excellence for the treatment of endometriosis and a sub specialist uro–gynaecology service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Based primarily at Princess Royal Hospital, the role involves working closely with a team of experienced consultants.
The post is ideal for post-CCT clinicians, CESR candidates, or trainees on OOPE/OOPT seeking high-volume benign gynaecology training.
Key components include regular outpatient hysteroscopy sessions, and involvement in research, teaching, service development, and leadership. The fellow will be embedded in a supportive, multidisciplinary team across a dynamic and expanding tertiary centre.
