Sellick Partnership is delighted to be partnering with a forward-thinking organisation in Suffolk to recruit a Fire Safety Lead permanently within their Housing division.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-resourced Maintenance & Contracts service, playing a critical role in ensuring the safety of residents across a diverse portfolio of homes and sheltered housing schemes.
🚨 The Role
As the organisation’s Fire Safety Lead, you will act as the subject matter expert and Duty Holder, leading on all aspects of fire safety compliance and strategy across housing assets.
You’ll have the opportunity to shape fire safety culture, influence strategic decisions, and deliver impactful safety improvements that protect communities.
đź”§ Key Responsibilities
* Lead fire safety compliance across all housing assets, ensuring adherence to current legislation and regulatory standards
* Act as the organisation’s principal fire safety expert and Duty Holder
* Oversee fire risk assessments, inspections, testing, and maintenance programmes
* Develop and implement fire safety strategies across a range of building types
* Manage and support a Fire Safety Surveyor, including workload planning and development
* Deliver major fire safety improvement programmes and provide expert technical advice
* Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and the Fire & Rescue Service
* Manage budgets, contracts, and external consultancy support
* Maintain accurate records and uphold the “Golden Thread” of fire safety information

We’re looking for a confident and experienced fire safety professional who can lead from the front:
* Proven experience managing fire safety within housing or residential environments
* Strong working knowledge of fire safety legislation and risk management
* Demonstrable experience conducting and overseeing fire risk assessments
* Leadership experience or clear potential to manage and develop others
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. IFE, NEBOSH Fire Safety) are highly desirable
