Skilled new hires are defined as having completed a relevant government-approved apprenticeship or having achieved at least a Level 3 vocational qualification via a regulated Awarding Organisation in a STEM subject relevant to the role, supported by industrial experience. This will be assessed through behavioral and technical interviews, and if necessary, a trade test, conducted by a competent individual aligned with the role. Example vocational qualifications include:
* National/Scottish Vocational Qualification
* National and Higher National Certificates/Diplomas
* EAL Diplomas and Extended Diplomas
* City and Guilds Diplomas and Extended Diplomas
* Foundation Degrees
As a Vehicle Technician, you’ll perform manufacturer-approved electrical, mechanical, body/trim reworks, update vehicle software, and investigate complex vehicle issues, ensuring timely completion of rectification work. You will also help maintain workshop standards for Health & Safety and environmental compliance.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In this role, no two days are the same. You’ll engage in various projects and build relationships across the business, fostering career growth within an iconic organisation. Your responsibilities include:
* Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and perform appropriate repairs
* Initial fault finding and rectification, raising concerns and escalating issues as needed
* Coordinate with the parts team to obtain necessary components
* Ensure Health and Safety standards are upheld
* Complete jobs within agreed timeframes while maintaining high productivity
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
To succeed, you should possess:
* An indentured/modern apprenticeship in Automotive Electrical or Mechanical discipline or a minimum Level 3 nationally recognized qualification, with documented evidence
* Strong technical knowledge of vehicle assembly and rectification (Electrical & Mechanical)
* Knowledge of vehicle servicing and maintenance
* Experience interpreting harness drawings
* Working knowledge of TOPIX, FMS, Salesforce, IQM, Corvus, and DMD
