Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Position: Electrical Engineer
Division: Terex MP Group Engineering
Location: Dungannon
Position Overview: The role of the Electrical Engineer is to serve new product development (NPD), drive continuous improvement and support the Terex mobile screening Team. The Engineer will be responsible for design of control systems, supporting project timelines & ensuring targets are met. The role will be responsible for providing technical expertise, interfacing with and acting as the link between functions, and providing inter department communications.
Responsibilities:
Program Management
1. Support NPPD projects for Terex mobile Screening plants - ensuring projects needs are interpreted accurately.
2. Assist in developing concepts & proposals; ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget & all key objectives are me.
3. Provide appropriate technical support on both existing product and NPD.
4. Take ownership & manage the introduction of new technology to ensure robust, repeatable & stable test periods.
Standards, Health & Safety
5. Design products that comply with Company & industry standards & legislation with regards to machine safety.
6. Work with key stake holders to meet the Terex target of ZERO harm.
7. Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are followed in accordance with company policies and in the creation of project risk analysis.
Value Engineering
8. Create and test PLC & HMI software (mainly CoDeSys 3.5).
9. Write Functional Specifications for software.
10. Ensure all project documentation & technical files are compiled and stored correctly.
11. Support Operations teams on improvement projects & focused improvements on Terex products.
12. Support product cost reduction and product reliability improvement efforts.
13. Directly contribute to and support continuous improvement in line with the business demand.
14. Occasionally perform equipment commissioning, installation and testing both in Company and on-site.
Qualifications:
15. Degree in an Electrical Engineering or Science discipline or equivalent qualification.
16. Technical expertise in designing DC voltage control systems
17. Experience in PLC programming.
18. Familiarity with electrical automation of hydraulic systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
19. Experience working in heavy equipment industry of 2+ years.
20. Comprehensive knowledge in design of DC electrical systems is a must. (3 phase electrical design knowledge a bonus)
21. Ability to troubleshoot machine malfunction.
22. Experience in electrical control panel design e.g. Zuken E3 Series desired.
23. Experience in design of 24Vdc control systems including CAN bus, Modbus etc. networks.
24. Development of PLC Software (ideally in CoDeSys).
25. Knowledge & understanding of Hydraulic systems.
26. Independent and self-motivated individual.
27. Project management and analytical skills.
28. Presentation and interpersonal skills.
29. Travel will be required.
