About the role
Residential Young People Support Worker. The school offers Education, Care and Clinical support for children & young people aged 8 to 18 years, who come to us on a full-time, residential basis from across the country, with a range of Autistic Spectrum and associated complex needs. Our part-time and full-time staff work on a rota basis, covering a mixture of earlies & lates. 3 Long day shifts, 4 off, on a 3 week rolling rota.
Responsibilities and experience
* Be confident in working with adults and children and have a genuine desire to support the work of the team
* Excellent communication skills
* Effective organisational capability
* One to one and small group work
* SEN experience (Autism, Challenging behaviour, life skills, personal care)
* Strong behaviour management
* Professional manner
* Enthusiasm and friendly approach
* Personal Care
* Flexibility to respond to the changing needs of those who we support
* Extremely resilient
* Strong "can do" attitude
* Driver with full UK driving license (if applicable per essential)
Essential qualifications
* Full UK Driving License
* NVQ Level 3
