About the Role I am working with a college in Carlisle to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Uniformed Protective Services Lecturer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual with industry experience and a passion for education to join a vibrant team and help shape the futures of students aspiring to careers in the police, fire, armed forces, and other uniformed services. As a Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and inclusive lessons across a range of levels, contribute to curriculum development, and provide pastoral and academic support as a course or group tutor. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess teaching and learning on a variety of Uniformed Protective Services programmes Monitor and support the academic progress and welfare of students Undertake administrative duties related to teaching responsibilities Support student recruitment, enrolment, and induction Contribute to the development of new curriculum content and course structures Maintain accurate student records and contribute to internal and external quality assurance processes Liaise with external partners and employers to enhance the student learning experience Promote and safeguard the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults Participate in ongoing professional development (minimum 30 hours per year) What We're Looking For Essential: A degree in a relevant subject Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills Industry experience in a uniformed service or a related field A commitment to safeguarding and equality of opportunity Desirable: Teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed) or willingness to gain within an agreed timescale Experience teaching or training in Further Education Familiarity with FE sector standards and quality frameworks Why Join this College?
