Salary: T4-T10 ($49,469.94-$64,226.88 p.a.)
Job Description:
The Civil Engineering Design & Survey team of Liverpool City Council has an exciting opportunity for 2 x Trainee Civil Engineer to join one of the most rapidly developing cities in NSW. You need to be currently enrolled in a Civil/Environmental Engineering Degree and successfully completed at least two semesters of the course at an accredited University or TAFE college. We will not accept applicants who have already completed a bachelor’s degree or higher.
During your appointment, you will have the opportunity to work in several exciting design and construction projects within Council’s Operations Directorate and undertake various duties under the supervision of qualified and experienced engineers.
In addition, assistance will also be provided with course fees, flexibility in working hours to attend lectures/exams, access to study leaves and the opportunity to participate in Councils flexitime arrangement.
About You:
* Satisfactory completion of at least two (2) semesters of a Civil/Environmental Engineering Degree Course or Associate Diploma at an accredited University or TAFE College.
* Current Class C Drivers Licence.
* The ability for accuracy and attention to detail
* The ability to comprehend and follow instructions
* The ability to work with limited supervision and meet deadlines
* Experience and ability to work in a team environment
* A high level of computer literacy and the ability to quickly learn how to operate and apply computer applications
* Knowledge of Work Health and Safety practices, the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity, ethical
* Practice and multi-cultural diversity
* Ability to develop knowledge of Local Government, Roads & Maritime services and Austroads Standards and Practices
* Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent presentation skills
* Develop a sound knowledge of continuous improvement processes and technique
* Excellent time management skills
