This is not a typical dev job — you’ll be working on something genuinely innovative, using joint-tracking tech, video streaming, and AI-powered coaching, with a roadmap toward becoming the CTO.
About the App
The app (with an early prototype already built) allows users to upload skiing videos, analyse movement using joint-tracking technology, and receive constructive feedback through an AI-powered chat assistant. You’ll help transform this into a fully functional, scalable product ahead of the next ski season.
About the Role
You’ll lead full-stack development (React Native + Node.js), collaborating closely with the founders and UX designer in an iterative, design-driven process. This is a greenfield opportunity where you’ll shape the technical architecture, development roadmap, and future team.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and own the mobile app front to back (React Native + Node.js)
* Build scalable APIs, cloud infrastructure, and CMS integrations
* Work from Figma prototypes through to production code
* Integrate AI tools and video analysis engines into a seamless user experience
* Optimise joint-tracking tech for accuracy and real-world performance
* Set the foundation for future team growth and CTO-level leadership
Some UK travel may be needed for testing on indoor/dry ski slopes.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a senior developer (or strong full-stack engineer) ready to take ownership and step into a leadership role.
Essential skills and experience:
* Proven experience building production-grade mobile apps (ideally with React Native)
* Strong back-end development with Node.js and scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP or Azure)
* Comfortable with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Firestore) databases
* Experience with video capture, playback, and media handling on mobile
* Understanding of AI integration, or willingness to learn rapidly
* Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving start-up environment
Nice to have:
* Experience with LLM-based chat agents or feedback generation tools
* Background in joint-tracking, movement analysis, or sports tech
* Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g. Contentful, Strapi) and dynamic content workflows
* An interest in skiing, coaching, or sports performance apps
