About this Role

Corpus Christi Catholic Academy Trust wishes to appoint a Deputy Headteacher at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School. The Trust, together with the Local Governing Body, seeks a committed and inspiring teacher who can partner with the Headteacher, Local Governors and the Trust Central Team to lead the future vision and development of the school. The ideal candidate will model and nurture a Christ‑centred culture across the whole school, inspiring staff, pupils and families in their spiritual and moral formation.

As this is a teaching post, we are also looking for someone confident in modelling effective classroom practice, leading by example and delivering leadership work alongside their teaching responsibilities. The role is an excellent stepping‑stone for an ambitious leader who wants to demonstrate the ability to impact pupil outcomes and build strong relationships with colleagues in readiness for headship.


Main Duties

* Assist the Headteacher in leading and managing the school.
* Support and represent the Headteacher at meetings as and when required.
* Undertake the professional duties of the Headteacher during their absence.
* Work in successful partnership with the Headteacher to support the Trust's vision for raising standards.

* Practising and committed Catholic who can articulate a clear vision for Catholic education.
* Exemplary teacher who endorses and follows agreed policies and shares excellent practice.
* Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive teams in school and with external parties.
* Proven leadership skills within primary or secondary education and experience of leading school improvement.
* Ambitious drive for each child within the Trust to succeed in all aspects of their lives.
* Strong moral and ethical principles and values.
* Enthusiastic, motivated and possessing a "can do" attitude.
* Able to adapt and respond appropriately to challenging situations.
* Open to new ideas, committed to teamwork and has a good sense of humour.

The post will be subject to enhanced DBS and barred list checks, Section 128 checks, satisfactory references, satisfactory pre‑employment health checks, satisfactory online/social media checks, and satisfactory overseas checks (where appropriate), and will be exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
