We are currently working alongside an excellent large scale multidisciplinary engineering consultancy as they look to bring in an Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services) into their Glasgow office. Role
* Deliver electrical design solutions from concept to detailed design and construction stages.
* Prepare calculations, specifications, drawings, and reports in line with client and regulatory requirements.
* Design and coordinate low voltage (LV) distribution, small power, lighting, fire alarms, data, security, and other building services systems.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, public health, and sustainability engineers to develop integrated solutions.
* Conduct site visits, condition surveys, and inspections; support testing and commissioning processes.
* Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g. BS7671, IET Wiring Regulations).
* Use design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux, Amtech/Trimble, and other electrical modelling tools.
Qualifications/Experience
* Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline (BEng/BSc minimum; MEng/MSc desirable).
* Similar experience in electrical design within a building services consultancy or contracting environment.
* Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations, British Standards, and industry guidance (e.g. CIBSE, IET Wiring Regulations – BS7671).
* Competent in designing and specifying electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, emergency lighting, fire alarms, data/communications, and security systems.
* Proficient in design and calculation tools such as Amtech/Trimble, Dialux/Relux, AutoCAD, and Revit MEP.
