We have an exciting opportunity for registered professionals to join our mental health team at HMP Millsike, a new all-electric Category C men's prison located in Full Sutton near York.

This role offers registered professionals with mental health experience the chance to expand their psychiatric skills and interventions while providing urgent and planned community-based care to the prison population.
HMP Millsike will have an operational capacity of 1500 inmates, focusing on skill development for release as part of the government's reoffending reduction strategy. Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust was awarded the mental health service contract, starting April 2025.
Main duties of the job
You will be a Registered Mental Health / LD Nurse / Social Worker / Occupational Therapist. The multidisciplinary team will work collectively with senior clinical staff to provide comprehensive mental health services, navigating the unique challenges of a prison setting.
You will conduct clinical assessments, communicate treatment options effectively, develop supportive care plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions alongside the wider team.

Job responsibilities
Candidates must have at least 18 months post-qualifying experience, including sign-off of preceptorship or competency framework. Only applicants with current registration and completed preceptorship are eligible; newly qualified applicants should apply through a different process.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* RNMH, RNLD, or equivalent registered practitioner with NMC or relevant body
* Evidence of CPD
* Clinical Supervisor (within agreed timescales)
* Recognized sign-off mentor or to be achieved within timescale
* Qualifications in CBT, DBT, PSI, dual diagnosis, etc. (within timescales)
* Literacy, numeracy, ITQ Level 2 or equivalent
* Teaching & Assessing qualifications (within timescales)
* Non-medical Prescriber (within timescale)
* Post-qualifying experience with preceptorship sign-off
* Post-graduate qualification in relevant area
Experience
* Significant mental health experience in community settings
* Understanding of Offender Health pathways
* Collaborative work with service users and families
* Experience in multidisciplinary teams, quality improvement, leadership, and mentoring in secure environments
Skills
