Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented CAD Technician to provide technical design and estimation support across our projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate CAD designs, preparing quotations, and supporting the wider team with technical information for both new and existing clients. This is a varied and challenging role, suited to someone who is highly organised, communicates effectively, and thrives under pressure.
Main Duties
* Produce, review, and manage CAD drawings for projects.
* Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations based on technical specifications.
* Liaise with clients by phone and email to provide technical information and support during design and tender stages.
* Follow up on tender submissions and support the sales team to close opportunities.
* Maintain records of designs, quotations, and client communications.
* Provide general technical support to the team as required.
* Support project administration and occasional diary management for senior staff.
Key Skills and Experience
* Strong experience with CAD software (AutoCAD essential).
* Proven estimation experience, preferably in construction or GRP/plastics manufacturing.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Confident, self‑motivated, and proactive.
Additional Information
* This is a full‑time position based in Scunthorpe, UK.
* Some flexibility for site visits may be required.
