Your SU is a charity and charities needs a Board of Directors. The Board is a team of volunteers who make decisions about a charities missions, goals and operations. Our Board works together and is responsible for the governance of the charity. As a Student Trustee, you will be a Non-Executive Director of the Charity that is the SU and oversee our strategic direction. You’ll be working with the Student Officers to ensure that the organisation is run in the best interests of students and that the university is being held to account.
As a Student Trustee, you will:
* attend 5 board meetings across the year, plus a strategy day and socials
* read briefings and updates on
* share your experiences of being a student with the rest of the board
* influence the actions and activities of the Students' Union
* learn more about how charities are governed and run

Student Trustee is great to put on your CV! You'll be getting experience of working within a team and representing fellow students. It has LOADS of transferable skills such as leadership, strategy, planning and communication. It could be a great start for someone looking for a career in business or politics, aswell as countless other fields.
