Senior Commissioning Engineer Opportunities
As a Senior Commissioning Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. We have opportunities for Senior Commissioning Engineers to work on a wide range of projects. You’ll take on a pivotal leadership role within our multi-disciplined commissioning team, supporting the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet during Deep Maintenance Periods. You’ll lead a team of Engineers and industrial staff to deliver complex commissioning activities on some of the most advanced machines on the planet.
What you’ll do:
1. Leading a team to inspect, test, and commission submarine systems, ensuring safety and performance.
2. Designing and authorising safe isolations for intrusive work on submarine systems.
3. Researching and approving technical documentation to support commissioning activities.
4. Ensuring compliance with health, safety, engineering quality, and nuclear standards.
5. Providing leadership, mentoring, and line management to Commissioning Engineers.
What you’ll need:
6. Strong knowledge of commissioning principles and isolation methodologies.
7. Experience with submarine operations or maintenance.
8. Extensive background in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Constructive/Naval Architecture).
9. Proficiency in interpreting technical system drawings and documentation.
10. Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
