Job Specification: Mechanical Design Engineer (Electronics Enclosures) Key Responsibilities: Support the mechanical design and development of electronics enclosures, with a focus on ensuring durability and performance in challenging environmental conditions (e.g., temperature extremes, vibration, ingress protection). Work on design modifications and improvements throughout the later stages of the product lifecycle. Prepare and update manufacturing drawings, ensuring accuracy, compliance with standards, and manufacturability. Provide design support for environmental testing, including analysis of test results and implementation of corrective actions as required. Essential Skills and Experience: Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modelling, design detailing, and assembly management. Experience in mechanical design of electronics enclosures or similar precision-engineered products. Strong understanding of materials selection, sealing, and thermal management considerations for electronics in harsh environments. Ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including electronics, manufacturing, and testing. Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to design documentation. Desirable: Familiarity with environmental testing standards (e.g., MIL-STD, IEC). Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and mechanical tolerance analysis.
