Main duties of the job
We are recruiting a Consultant Radiologist with expertise in Neuro imaging to join our Radiology team, delivering elective and emergency imaging services across Calderdale and Huddersfield.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality Neuro imaging interpretation across CT and MRI. They will vet and report specialist scans, offer second opinions, participate in MDTs, and work flexibly across sites while maintaining competence in general imaging.
The role includes participation in the on-call rota, contribution to departmental functions such as education, audit, and modality groups, and adherence to Trust clinical governance and health and safety standards. The post also involves teaching, supervising trainees from the Leeds-Bradford Radiology Academy, and engaging in research, audit, and service evaluation to support evidence-based practice.

Job responsibilities
The role includes active involvement in MDTs, cross-specialty collaboration, and opportunities to contribute to education, audit, research, and departmental leadership roles.
A strong commitment to clinical governance, quality assurance, peer review, and adherence to Trust safety policies is essential, as is participation in maintaining accreditation under the Quality Standard for Imaging.
Person Specification
Experience and Achievements
* Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in all aspects of the Radiology specialty
* Must have experience working in Neuro Imaging
* Demonstrable interest in general non-vascular interventional radiology--evidenced through clinical experience, training, audit, or service development--would be considered desirable to support the ongoing delivery and growth of the Trust's interventional service
* Understanding current issues within the wider NHS
* Attendance at a recognised management course
* Shows ability to work with and lead others across professions
Qualifications
* FRCR or equivalent
* Applicants must have Specialist Registration for Radiology or within 6 months of being admitted to the register for trainees, if currently in a training programme in the UK. In accordance with the regulations, all other categories of Doctors must be on the GMC specialist register to be considered for a consultant appointment by the Advisory Appointments Committee
Teaching and Training
* Experience of and enthusiasm for clinical teaching of postgraduate doctors and non-medical staff.
* Academic achievements/evidence of familiarity with research methods which have resulted in publications
* Training in clinical and educational supervision
* Attendance at a teaching course
* Good communication and empathy skills with patients
* Evidence of willingness to participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment to provide an integrated service
* Ability to work as a member of a team, both through communication and sharing workload
* Ability to manage high pressure situations e.g. clinical crisis

General
* Eligibility to work in the UK
* Ability to work in various locations throughout the network of services provided by Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust
* For areas requiring EPP Clearance (Exposure Prone Procedures), this will also be a requirement of the health screening
* An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required with the Disclosure and Barring Service
Clinical Governance and Research
* Knowledge of Audit principles and evidence of participation in and completion of audit projects
* Critical Appraisal Skills
* Evidence of knowledge of research methodology
