What you’ll do
* Providing Knowledge and technical capabilities in the development and validation of new and existing products, analyzing mechanical systems and equipment.
* Conducting feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
* Directly supporting associates in the preparation of design testing and prototype fabrication.
* Providing design support to drafting for packaging documentation.
* Leading and supporting design reviews for NPDs and new component production - measurement testing for tolerance confirmation, specification definition, conversion of outputs to CAD and 3D CAD models through tools such as reverse engineering and SolidWorks, practical development through eg 3D prototyping and finishing, other material handing tools and device testing.
* Work with internal cross-functional teams and external customers to develop Process Validation and design transfer protocols and support in manufacturing transfer, efficiency and reliability.
* Complying with safety practices, ensuring that all work is assessed and conducted in a safe manner, within Company and statutory requirements and regulations
* Providing support to, and working collaboratively with, Supply Chain, Project management, Product Management and Quality personnel in the formation of product requirement specifications that ensure customer satisfaction (especially in field of laboratory filtration). Providing support to and working collaboratively with Sourcing, Supplier quality engineering in raw material performance managing, supplier audit via acting as technical expert. Applying working knowledge / understanding of device manufacturing process such as injection moulding and materials, Advanced manufacturing and automated production line needs
* Technical writing of reports, publications and product support materials to agreed timelines
Who you are
* Bachelor’s degree (Hon) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or demonstrable equivalent experience in an engineering or technical discipline.
* Minimum of 3- 5 years’ experience in an R&D or engineering role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably in the Life Sciences or Healthcare sector.
* Hands-on experience with plastic engineering and injection moulding technologies, including the design and development of prototype solutions. Familiarity with the challenges and applications of additive manufacturing (3D printing) is also required.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience of technical report writing, and product and manufacturing support materials to agreed timelines.
* Demonstrates rigorous analytical thinking, is self-motivated and eager to continuously learn. Capable of working independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
