Job Description
My client is seeking a Private Client Paralegal to join their growing law firm in Bromley, Greater London.
The role will be to support two fee earners in delivering a broad range of private client legal services. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious paralegal with some Private Client experience or a strong interest in developing their career in this area of law.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support fee earners by managing a varied caseload involving Private Client matters such as wills, probate, estate administration, trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Court of Protection work.
• Assist in drafting legal documents, letters, and correspondence relevant to client cases.
• Liaise with clients to gather and collate necessary information, providing updates and responding to routine enquiries under supervision.
• Carry out legal research and assist with case preparation to progress matters efficiently.
• Help maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Provide administrative support including diary management and coordination with external parties such as the Probate Registry, banks, and other stakeholders.
• Work closely with fee earners to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
Essential Criteria:
• Previous experience working in Private Client legal work is highly desirable, ideally within wills, probate, trusts, or related areas.
• Legal qualification or relevant paralegal experience; candidates with a law degree, legal studies, or comparable experience will be considered.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and client-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Sensitivity to client confidentiality and a strong understanding of equality and diversity principles.
• Experience working within a law firm environment.
• Knowledge of relevant software systems (e.g., case management software).
