Job Title: Industrial Services Asset Maintenance Manager
Location: Dalston Factory, Cumbria
Salary: £53,300 depending on experience + potential bonus + generous pension scheme + 12 flexible days on top of 25-day holiday entitlement + 2 paid volunteering days + other benefits

Position Summary
We are seeking an Asset Maintenance Manager at our Beverage factory in Dalston, Cumbria.
Reporting to the Factory Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing industrial services, ensuring optimal, cost-effective, high-quality utility generation and distribution for the factory. This includes steam, refrigeration, water and effluent treatment, Nitrogen and CO2, compressed air, and waste handling.
Nestlé Dalston Factory is the European hub for cappuccino and creamers, producing various beverage products with highly automated PLC-controlled processes and filling lines. The factory is expanding and implementing Lean/TPM principles, making it an exciting environment.
A day in the life of an Asset Maintenance Manager
This role involves ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations of industrial services, managing a technical team, and overseeing the design, modification, and improvement of plant and infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ensure safety of personnel and process safety for industrial plant and equipment through inspections and audits.
* Lead and develop a skilled operational team.
* Ensure team competence through assessments and training plans.
* Manage design, modifications, and improvements of industrial services infrastructure, involving internal expertise and external contractors.
* Support efficient operation and compliance of industrial services.
* Assist in budgeting, monitor costs, and identify energy and water-saving opportunities.
* Ensure quality, environmental, and safety compliance through monitoring and management processes.
What will make you successful
* Degree/Diploma/HNC in Mechanical, Electrical & Automation, Process, or Industrial Engineering.
* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to coach and develop teams.
* Proven track record in achieving targets, driving improvements, and managing budgets. BOAS certification or competence in Industrial Refrigeration (NH3) is preferred but training can be provided.
* Experience with boilers, steam systems, water treatment, refrigeration, legionella, RO plants, sewage treatment, and air conditioning.
* Background in building maintenance and facilities management.
* Continuous improvement mindset; TPM experience is a plus.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and contractors.
* Capability to lead a team in delivering safety, reliability, compliance, and sustainability goals.
