AAT Accounting Technician – Semi-Senior Accountant
Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid: 2 days WFH)
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum
A busy accountancy practice in Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced AAT Accounting Technician / Semi-Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong AAT Accountant with practice experience, looking to focus on bookkeeping and accounts while working alongside a dedicated client account management team.
The Role – Semi-Senior Accountant
As a Semi-Senior Accountant / AAT Accounting Technician, your responsibilities will include:

Managing bookkeeping and accounts for 70–80 clients per quarter.
*
Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with VAT schemes.
*
Supporting client account managers with client files and reports.
*
Preparing accurate accounts for review by senior team members.
*
Maintaining high-quality financial records and supporting compliance work.
This role offers minimal direct client interaction, allowing you to focus on accounts, bookkeeping, and tax compliance.
Requirements
*
AAT Level 4 qualified (AAT Accounting Technician).
*
3–4 years’ experience in an Accounting Practice.
*
Extensive knowledge of VAT schemes and compliance.
*
Strong bookkeeping skills and ability to manage multiple client accounts.
*
Excellent Excel and accounting software skills.
*
Ability to work collaboratively with client account managers while managing your own workload efficiently.
