The aim of this role is to proactively support team members in the day-to-day management and development of existing and new supplier relationships. The goal is to increase sales levels and identify new products. Maximize our earning potential for the Group by negotiating the best commercial terms, along with additional marketing and funding support from our suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support management in communication with suppliers, ensuring negotiations for guaranteed overrides, targeted overrides, marketing funds, tactical offers/exclusives, and staff incentives are made and communicated appropriately.
2. Assist management in maximizing overall sales across the group by identifying suitable products for the market with supplier support.
3. Support relationship management with Sales, Product, and Marketing departments to ensure funding opportunities from suppliers are maximized to meet KPIs.
4. Raise sponsorship funds for company events if required.
5. Handle branch queries related to suppliers, such as commissions, price matches, errors, and general inquiries, using problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
6. Continuously review internal processes and procedures, maintaining departmental process documents.
7. Gain comprehensive understanding of the different trading divisions within the group and their practices.
8. Support the management of the department's day-to-day operations.
9. Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
10. Participate in and deliver relevant training for personal development.
11. Perform administrative duties effectively.
12. Participate in ad-hoc duties or prepare information as required.
Technical Skills Required
1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook, as well as in-house systems and reporting tools.
2. File management skills.
3. Web navigation skills.
4. Email management skills.
Qualifications / Experience Required
1. Previous experience in the travel industry, ideally in a commercial role.
2. Excellent knowledge of travel products.
