Could you be the person who brings bold ideas and brilliant coordination to the future of active travel in North East Lincolnshire?
If you're someone who thrives on managing projects from concept to completion, enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders, and has a strong understanding of transport policy and infrastructure, then we'd love to hear from you.
What's the role all about?
This role is all about championing active travel across the borough. You'll coordinate and manage the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP), oversee capital and revenue projects, and work closely with internal teams and external partners. Your work will directly support the Council's Local Transport Plan and its ambition to reach net zero carbon by 2050.
What will your day look like?
No two days in this role will ever feel the same! One moment you might be crafting compelling funding applications or updating the Department for Transport on your latest wins, and the next you're chairing lively discussions with stakeholders or leading the Active Travel Forum. You'll keep a close eye on budgets and timelines, making sure everything's ticking along smoothly. You'll also get creative, developing communication strategies that get people excited about walking, cycling, and scooting. And throughout it all, you'll be working hand-in-hand with brilliant colleagues across the council to bring active travel projects to life.
Who are we looking for?
We're on the lookout for someone who's got a solid track record in project and financial management, and who knows how to bring people together with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You'll ideally have a degree or equivalent experience under your belt bonus points if you've got a project management qualification too! If you're the kind of person who sees challenges as opportunities, works well under your own steam, and brings a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to the table, you'll fit right in. A good grasp of transport legislation and how local authorities operate will also help you hit the ground running.
Why join us?
Because this isn't just a job. This is a chance to shape the future of transport in North East Lincolnshire, contributing to healthier lifestyles and a more sustainable environment. You'll work in a supportive team, with opportunities for professional development and real impact.
