 We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our Highways team, maintaining and improving street lighting, illuminated signs, and other public electrical installations across the borough.
 This is a hands-on role where your work directly contributes to road safety, community wellbeing, and the quality of our public spaces.
 
 What You’ll Be Doing
Carry out maintenance and installation of street lighting, illuminated road signs, bollards, and other highway electrical systems.
Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation
Complete all relevant documentation and reports accurately and on time.
Support compliance with the Operator Licence requirements for vehicles and plant equipment.
Work safely at height using hydraulic platforms, ladders, and scaffolding (up to 15 metres).
Drive and operate vehicles and plant associated with the role, carrying out basic maintenance as required.
Contribute to the efficient use of materials and resources, ensuring a cost-effective, high-quality service.
Work independently and as part of a team, supporting colleagues and sharing skills where needed.
 What We’re Looking For
Fully qualified Electrician, ideally with experience in street lighting or highways electrical work.
Good working knowledge of health and safety regulations
Comfortable working at height and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Strong team player with a positive, proactive attitude.
Full UK driving licence
