Job overview
1. You will assist radiology staff in the day to day running of the department including patient care and patient flow.
2. The post involves a shift pattern and includes evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. Although mainly based at the Princess Royal there is also a rotation to the other south sites.
3. The post holder will be expected to perform clinical and administration duties across the radiology department, assisting the Radiologists / Radiographers / Sonographers running a list, diagnostic examinations and interventional procedures.
Main duties of the job
Responsibility for patient care
·Ensure all infection control standards are adhered to, and high levels of cleanliness are maintained.
·Cannulation of patients where necessary.
·Assisting with interventional procedures including the management of samples and slides as well as the post procedural care of the patient.
·Monitor patients in the waiting areas and respond to their needs if a patient is in need of further assistance.
·Clean equipment as directed.
·Exposure to unpleasant working conditions body fluids and open wounds. This will require working in Radiation Controlled Areas and high strength magnetic fields.
·Assist with patient movements around the department and during examination.
·Act as chaperone where necessary.
