The Property Cost Manager (Quantity Surveyor) will join the Property team responsible for acquisition, new build, refurbishment, and maintenance of our diverse property estate, including retail, manufacturing, and logistics sites.
The Property Cost Manager is responsible for improving our cost and value management capabilities through robust cost control and focusing on best value outcomes from our investments.
This role suits an Associate or Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to step up.
This is a hybrid role, working from our Bradford office three days a week. Applicants should reside within a reasonable distance from Bradford.
Key responsibilities include:
* Proactive cost reporting on capital and operational expenditure
* Commercial governance of project spend
* Developing life cycle cost models to support investment planning
* Maintaining benchmark data to identify improvement areas
* Collaborating with the Design & Standards team for cost-effective specifications
* Managing QS supplier partners and driving process improvements
* Leading procurement to ensure the best suppliers and prices
* Developing and managing a high-performing supply chain
* Reporting on commercial metrics and KPIs for continuous improvement
* Collaborating with the Directs team for efficient procurement of fittings and equipment
You should also have:
* Relevant construction/industry experience
* Experience delivering new build and refurbishment projects
* Knowledge of cost-effective specifications and innovations
* Effective stakeholder management skills
* Strong commercial and financial acumen
* Experience managing multiple projects/programmes
* Knowledge of JCT contract forms
* Membership of RICS (desirable)
