Job Description
As an Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing care, guidance, and support to children who have arrived in the UK without a parent or guardian. Your duties will include:
* Building positive relationships with children and creating a safe and supportive environment.
* Assisting with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal care, and educational support.
* Providing emotional support and advocacy for children as they navigate the asylum process.
* Accompanying children to appointments and helping them access necessary services and resources.
* Collaborating with colleagues, social workers, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum of 4 months previous care and support work experience (essential)
* Experience working with children and young people, particularly those from diverse backgrounds is preferred (desirable)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Empathy and understanding towards the needs of asylum-seeking children.
* Ability to work a mixture of early shifts, late shifts, and long days.
* Drivers are preferred due to the need to travel to different locations when children are staying (non drivers will be considered)
