Job Description: Proactive Staff are looking for a skilled CNC Fabrication Engineer to join a well-established, expanding client in the Nottingham area. Key Responsibilities The successful hire will run CNC punching machines and press brakes, with some fabrication and welding duties. This hands-on role involves setting and operating machinery, preparing jobs, and ensuring high-quality production of metal components in line with engineering drawings. You will also play a key role in maintaining equipment, managing materials, and supporting the wider production process, including welding and mechanical fitting where required. Set and operate CNC machines (including Trumpf TruPunch 1000 with SheetMaster Compact and Press Brakes 3100 & 3066) Fold and cut parts in line with engineering drawings Carry out MIG welding of mild steel components to specification Perform basic Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) such as cleaning, sharpening, and minor repairs Manage stock and materials (sheet metal, pallets, consumables) Control goods-in processes, checking deliveries for quality and accuracy Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment Support additional production duties, including mechanical fitting where required Skills & Experience Experience setting and running CNC machines Ability to read and interpret mechanical/engineering drawings MIG welding experience (mild steel) Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Good understanding of health and safety practices Experience operating folding machines (desirable) Forklift licence (desirable) How to Apply If youre a motivated CNC Operator / Fabricator looking to join a supportive and growing team, wed love to hear from you.
