Job Description
Health and Safety Manager
Permanent | Full-Time
Hybrid, Travel covering the South
Osprey Engineering Solutions are recruiting a Health & Safety Manager on behalf of a well-established, leading supplier within the compressed air industry for industrial environments.
This is a hands-on, H&S leadership role for an experienced safety professional who is equally comfortable working at a strategic level and engaging with engineers, technicians, and operational teams on a day-to-day basis. The business operates across both engineering and service environments, so a background in engineering, manufacturing, or a technical industrial setting is essential.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) activity across the business
* Develop, implement, and continuously improve H&S management systems, policies, and procedures in line with current legislation
* Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and support the maintenance and improvement of environmental management practices
* Conduct and review risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safe systems of work across all operational activities
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses — identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
* Deliver H&S inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training to staff across engineering, technical, and operational functions
* Carry out regular site audits and inspections across multiple locations
* Liaise with external bodies including the HSE, insurers, and certification bodies
* Monitor legislative changes and ensure the business remains fully compliant
* Produce regular H&S reports and KPI dashboards for senior management
Requirements
* NEBOSH National General Certificate as a minimum — essential.
* Proven H&S management experience within an engineering, manufacturing, or technical industrial environment
* Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems — experience within an ISO-certified business is highly desirable
* Experience producing RAMS, conducting risk assessments, and leading incident investigations
* Strong communicator — able to engage credibly with engineers, technicians, and senior leadership
* Self-motivated and capable of managing H&S autonomously across a multi-site operation
* Full UK driving licence required
