Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Location: Beaminster
Contract Type: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP
This will be a temp position lasting 6 weeks.
Responsibilities:
1. Support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality teaching and learning activities
2. Lead and deliver lessons under the guidance of the class teacher
3. Work with individuals and small groups to provide targeted support and intervention
4. Assist in the planning, preparation, and assessment of lessons and learning materials
5. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
6. Implement behavior management strategies and promote positive student engagement
7. Contribute to the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students with additional needs
8. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure effective support for students
Requirements:
9. Recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent
10. Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
11. Sound knowledge of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies
12. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
13. Ability to lead and deliver lessons independently, adapting to the needs of the students
14. A positive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Desirable
Qualifications and Skills:
15. Additional qualifications or training in areas such as Special Educational Needs (SEN), behaviour management, or phonics instruction
16. Experience with assessment and tracking of student progress
17. Knowledge of specific interventions and strategies to support students with diverse needs
