GSL Education are currently working in partnership with a highly supportive secondary school in Bournemouth to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist SEN Provision on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), supporting a range of needs including Autism, learning difficulties, and speech & language needs. Many of the students within the provision are able to access the curriculum, meaning you will play a key role in supporting both academic progress and personal development. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work within the school’s specialist provision supporting students with EHCPs, helping them to access learning and develop confidence in a supportive and structured environment. Key responsibilities include: Supporting students with Autism, learning difficulties and speech & language needs Providing 1:1 and small group support within the SEN provision Helping students access the curriculum and achieve academic progress Supporting emotional regulation, social skills and independence Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff Creating a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment The school This secondary school is committed to developing confident, resilient and independent learners who are well prepared for their future.
