We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineer to join our growing Ground Investigation team - ideally someone with over one year's experience in a similar field.
This role offers the chance to work across the UK, and occasionally within Europe, on a variety of ground investigation projects that contribute to sustainable infrastructure and environmental progress. Recent work has included large-scale investigations for renewable energy developments and major regeneration projects across the UK.
Reporting to a Senior Engineer or Project Manager, you will support the successful delivery of ground investigation projects from start to finish. Full training is provided, along with clear professional development pathways to support your growth and progression.
This is a full-time, permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage ground investigation projects across the UK (with approximately 80% travel and 20% office-based work).
Log soil and rock in accordance with BS5930:2020.
Manage on-site works, including pricing, supplier liaison, and health & safety documentation.
Oversee on-site safety, paperwork, and subcontractor management.
Follow working instructions and ensure compliance with client and company standards.
Attend and complete relevant internal and industry-recognised training (e.g. PTS, NRASWA, CCNSG, First Aid, Manual Handling, etc.).
Produce factual reports, process data, and maintain accurate project records.
Conduct desk-based studies and assist senior staff with project duties.
Oversee the allocation, maintenance, and servicing of ground investigation equipment.
Adhere to all company and client health, safety, and environmental policies.About You
We're looking for someone who's collaborative, motivated, and passionate about geotechnical and environmental engineering. To be successful in this role, you should have:
A BSc in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geography, or a related discipline.
Experience supervising and managing ground investigation contracts.
Knowledge of CDM regulations and experience preparing Health & Safety documentation.
A strong commitment to safety and continual improvement.
Experience leading or mentoring site teams.
A flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change.
Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills.
The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
A professional and respectful communication style.
Willingness to work outdoors, at variable locations, and flexible hours as required.
