Currently looking for a ambitious and driven Buyer to join a successful family run business who specialise in food and beverage retail. They have experienced phenomenal growth in the last few years which shows no signs of slowing down and as a result they are growing their team at their Birmingham head office.
You will be responsible for delivering a commercially focused product range within core grocery that meets both company and team targets, while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued growth within the categories.
* Building & maintaining strong relationships with both large FMCG suppliers and smaller independent suppliers
* Sourcing suppliers & negotiating best cost prices.
* Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines.
* Review levels of own brand stock & ensure adequate levels are available and minimise risk
* Presenting reports, figures & trend information to the Senior Management team
* Dealing and resolving problems/queries relating to damaged or out of date product.
* Analyse market trends and competitor activity
1. Key requirements for the role.
* Must have experience within a fast paced, FMCG environment preferably within Food.
* Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
* Able to adapt swiftly in a fast paced, ever changing FMCG market.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
* Good working knowledge of budgets and managing conflicting projects.
* Excellent understanding of all MS Office products including advanced Excel
